Doreen Campbell – Testimonial
My mothers appointment was made within 2 weeks of my initial call at the Spire Hospital in Roundhay at the beginning of July.
The cervical spine showed mild degenerative changes but the thoracic spine had severe canal stenosis at the lower thoracic level with compression of the cord. This was giving her problems with balance and weakness in the legs. She also has multilevel lumbar canal stenosis between L2-L5 as a results of degenerate discs and thickening facets and ligamentum which is causing severe canal stenosis. At this stage she was virtually housebound with very limited movement.
After an MRI scan Dr Pal quickly diagnosed the problem and recommended the surgery required to prevent the degeneration becoming worse.
The surgery was booked quickly and performed at the end of August for 2 different areas of her spine. 3 bones were removed during a 5 hour operation.
My mother was walking without a stick within a few days and a few hundred yards within two weeks.
She is now pain free, living independently, climbing stairs, able to drive a car and walk good distances without any support.
It has been a complete success and we can not thank Dr Pal enough for his skill, knowledge willingness to perform the operation on at 83 year old.
Highly recommended, first class professional.
