Leonard Daly – Testimonial
After suffering several weeks of back and leg pain I decided to seek help from a Chiropractor. Several sessions later and finding no relief from pain a MRI scan was ordered. This revealed nerve compression at L4/L5 and L5/S1 levels due to degenerative scoliosis and severe narrowing of the spinal canal. Mr Pal was able to see me the next day. He explained what was happening with my spine and we discussed treatment options which included decompression of the affected nerves and spinal fusion. Steroid injections would not provide a lasting solution and I could not continue with this painful condition which severely restricted my quality of life. At 78 years of age I am still a keen cyclist and had not contemplated giving up cycling therefore, I decided to proceed with the surgery. Mr Pal thoroughly explained the procedures and risks.
The date of the operation suffered some delay because of COVID 19 but the day arrived. After 5 hours on the operating table I and nights sleep I woke up free of pain and able to walk a short distance without aid. Now 7 weeks into recovery I can move about my house quite easily and walk short distances outside.
Having seen my x-rays following the operation and had the intricacies of the surgery explained to me, I now fully appreciate the degree of skill, experience and stamina that Mr Pal displayed that evening. Not forgetting too his dedicated team at Nuffield Health Leeds and Spire Leeds hospitals. I am truly grateful to Mr Pal.
