Roger Pashby – Testimonial
Following lumber surgery in 2011, in Cardiff, I was still taking painkillers and antiinflammatories to counter the pain in my lower back. Over time my condition got prgressively worse and I was referred to Mr Pal at the The Spine Clinic at Leeds in 2015. At this time, my walking was restricted to ca 100 metres. Sitting, standing and bending were increasingly restricted and it became impossible to pursue any of my interests and activities. Mr Pal discussed the details and benefits of his proposed XLIF technique. I was impressed with his positive and personable approach to my problems and convinced that this option was the most likely to offer a better recovery time and overall improvement to my quality of life. Following my operation, there is no doubt in my mind that XLIF delivered a faster recovery. This in turn had a positive effect on my mental approach to handling the exercise programme necessary for a comprehensive recovery which was completed within a 12 month period. The end result has allowed me to resume my main interests and activities of walking (in excess of 5 miles), playing table tennis, standing to carry out woodcarving, and all aspects of gardening (within sensible reason!). I can carry out all these activities without pain. I cannot thank Mr Pal enough for restoring my quality of life.
